General

The "General" category allows the user to define the primary role of the computer, as follow:

preferences_general

Display EVEREST in the Control Panel

This option enables displaying EVEREST icon in Windows Control Panel, hence it enables launching EVEREST from Control Panel.

Load EVEREST at Windows startup

This option enables automatic loading of EVEREST when Windows starts.

Display EVEREST splash screen at startup

This option enables displaying of EVEREST splash screen at EVEREST startup.

Computer primary role

This option controls diagnostics messages (Problems & Suggestions):

·"General" mode allows Everest to display diagnostics messages related to a generic computer type  
·"3D Gaming" mode allows Everest to display diagnostic warnings when the computer is not powerful enough to handle processor intensive applications such as 3D accelerated games  
·"Server" mode allows Everest to display diagnostic warnings when the computer is not configured properly or not powerful enough for server applications  

When EVEREST starts

This option controls the initial appearance of EVEREST main window. Combined with the "Load EVEREST at Windows startup" option, it is possible to load EVEREST at Windows startup and hiding its main window in order to use it to monitor temperatures and voltages using its Sensor Icons or OSD features.
